As the players made their way to the field, the significant news was bound to reach their ears. It's plausible that the senior management of the English Football Association convened an urgent high-level meeting to discuss the appropriate response. Bear in mind, the scheduled post-game press conference with coach Tuchel and the players was to take place, yet under the current circumstances, it's hard to envision anyone from their ranks speaking about the matter with ease.
